Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before using the website at electtech.ca or engaging Elect Technologies Inc. for any services. By accessing our website or signing a service agreement, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Services

Elect Technologies Inc. provides managed IT services, network management, hardware sales, web development, technology training, and related professional services. Specific terms for each service engagement are governed by a separate written Service Agreement signed by both parties.

2. Eligibility

Our services are available to businesses and individuals who are 18 years of age or older, or minors with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. Kids Tech Club programs require explicit parental or guardian consent for participants under 18.

3. Service Agreements and Payment

All managed service engagements are subject to a formal Service Agreement outlining scope, pricing, and SLAs. Key payment terms:

  • Invoices are issued monthly in advance for recurring services.
  • Payment is due within 30 days of invoice date.
  • Late payments are subject to a 1.5% monthly interest charge.
  • All prices are in Canadian dollars and exclude applicable taxes (GST/PST).
  • Pricing is subject to change with 30 days' written notice.

4. Managed IT Services (MSP) Specific Terms

4.1 Service Levels and Response Times

Response times are defined per priority tier:

  • Critical (P1): Complete business outage — response within 1 hour, resolution target 4 hours.
  • High (P2): Major service degradation — response within 2 hours, resolution target 8 hours.
  • Medium (P3): Partial impairment — response within 4 hours, resolution target 24 hours.
  • Low (P4): Minor issue or request — response within 1 business day.

After-hours coverage is available for Premium and Enterprise plans.

4.2 Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for:

  • Providing timely access to systems and premises as required.
  • Notifying Elect Technologies of planned changes to the IT environment.
  • Maintaining licensed software on all managed endpoints.
  • Following security policies and recommendations provided by Elect Technologies.
4.3 Exclusions

MSP agreements do not cover:

  • Damage caused by misuse, power surges, or natural disasters (unless add-on covered).
  • Software licensing fees unless explicitly included.
  • Work performed by unauthorized third parties.
  • Issues arising from client-directed changes contrary to our recommendations.

5. Managed Network Program (MNP) Specific Terms

The MNP requires a one-time onboarding fee of $1,485 to cover network assessment, configuration, and documentation. Monthly recurring fees are invoiced in advance. Minimum commitment is 12 months. Early termination within the first 12 months will result in a fee equal to 50% of remaining monthly fees.

6. Training Programs

Enrolment in training programs (including Kids Tech Club) constitutes a binding commitment for the full session duration. Refund policy:

  • More than 7 days before first session: Full refund less a $50 administrative fee.
  • 3–7 days before first session: 50% refund.
  • Less than 3 days before or after commencement: No refund. Credits toward future sessions may be issued at our discretion.

Elect Technologies reserves the right to reschedule or cancel sessions with at least 48 hours' notice, in which case a full refund or credit will be provided.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, graphics, logos, and software — is the property of Elect Technologies Inc. and is protected by Canadian copyright law. Unauthorized reproduction or distribution is prohibited.

Work product created specifically for clients under a service agreement becomes the client's property upon full payment, unless otherwise specified in the agreement.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Elect Technologies Inc.'s total liability arising out of or related to these Terms or any service agreement shall not exceed the total fees paid by the client in the 3 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, special, or incidental damages.

9. Confidentiality

Both parties agree to maintain the confidentiality of proprietary information disclosed in the course of the service relationship. This obligation survives termination of the service agreement for a period of 2 years.

10. Termination

Either party may terminate a service agreement with 30 days' written notice, subject to any minimum commitment periods. Elect Technologies may terminate immediately for cause, including non-payment, unauthorized system access, or violation of these Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the applicable federal laws of Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Quesnel or Williams Lake, BC.

12. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on our website. Continued use of our services after notice of changes constitutes acceptance.
